Does anyone know if the car can be fitted with 360’ camera for parking assist etc. The Australian Kabana model has front and rear cameras for this purpose but my dealer states that this cannot be purchased in the UK. Would useful to get this cleared up.

Sorry I have no information on the subject personally. I would tend to follow the advice you had from your dealer!

We had a front-and-rear dashcam installed by the dealer when we bought the car. It came with an integrated reverse parking camera pre-installed.

Interesting! It would seem that dealers can vary in what they can offer!

It’s just interesting to note that in Australia the car comes with Toyota 360’ camera parking assist. However in the UK you will only receive a reverse parking camera. Are we better drivers in the UK not to warrant the above parking aids ?

Sorry but I’m unable to answer that one! Specification ms vary from country to country and I’m not aware of any specific requirements for a 360degree camera in Australia!

Sorry I wasn’t explicit enough. In the UK Toyota offer the City Pack on the Yaris Cross. This has cameras positioned to allow you to have front and back views with an additional Birds Eye view that allows you to have a 360’ all around the car picture as you park. I surmise this is electronically stitched together from more than one camera. This facility is offered on the C-HR as part of the top of the range equipment Kango spec. The reason I mention Australia is purely to outline that the cars from the same Toyota factory are delivered to different continents with different additional safety specs. We the UK are unable to have the above mentioned Park Assist on our top of the range C-HR. My dealer stated it was due to the old wiring loam in the UK-HR. I woul suggest this is not the case. The question is has anybody else noticed this difference in spec or has anybody else questioned why the C-HR is unable to have the City Pack parking camera suite to enable a 360’ Birds Eye view as seen in the Yaris Cross ?

Thanks for the additional information. Unfortunately I still can’t make any additional comments beyond those I made earlier!

I think our UK C-HR 2021 model car has park assist, but I never use it - I just rely on the built-in reversing camera.

Michael like you I rely solely on the reversing camera! Do all UK models have park assist fitted? I must say that I’m not sure but I think my ‘Excel’ model is suitably equipped!

There’s quite a lot of detail to be aware of across the whole C-HR range!

The Icon model didn't used to have park assist, though I don't know about now as I have noticed that some extras are becoming fitted as standard on models that didn't used to have them.

I also meant to say that, with regards to the 360 camera availability, I don't know if it is actually available in the UK, but the sensors around the car body I find to be more than adequate.

I see! I can’t comment as I don’t know the current specifications. It’s interesting to consider all the add ons these days which we all expect and probably take for granted!

I can see what you mean! Personally, I had a 360 camera on a Lexus that I had in the past and whilst I can’t deny that it had its uses, I don’t see it as necessary! I get on fine with my car and its spec!
