I can only say this as when I first test drove the Corolla Hybrid it was the Toyota salesmans company car and he was getting around 52 mpg, me in my short time of a test drive got 1 mpg extra which he seemed surprised.
Then when I got my Corolla Icon 1.8 Hybrid the highest Mpg was 82 and that's myy highest as then slipped down to low 70s. 8 months down the line im around 65 to 68mpg if that helps.

In summer around town and up and down the hills where i live i was getting 63mpg in my 22 plate 1.8 Corolla…wintertime has dropped it a bit to 58 mpg. At motorway speeds the mileage drops considerably as the petrol engine is working all the time so you get little if any hybrid advantage and will be about the same mpg as a similar sized petrol car. I’ve found the hybrid progressively gives poorer economy the faster you go… anything over 60mph brings down the mpg quite noticeably … As i do very few long fast journeys the Corolla hybrid is perfect for me…but not if I was predominantly on the motorway.

Measured on refill of fuel MPG in the summer 64 plus to the gallon, winter 48 ish depending on if used in traffic if the car is iced up with frost. You will not get better with a petrol engine car of Corolla size. The only thing I lost from my diesel car was the free road tax, petrol is a cheaper fuel too.

2020 Corolla Excel 2.0 with 52k miles just traded in for a new one. Averaged 55.9mpg over the 52k miles. Fantastic car, hence a like for like replacement which has turned out to be the 2023MY version - 1500 miles so far averaging 57mpg
