My 2021 Corolla Hatchback heater is OK. When the car is covered in frost ,I bring it to ready condition, increase the aircon temp control to Hi temp(the Maximum),put on the front screen blower to boast setting,it clears,I have never timed it. I know Ford used to do a heated front windscreen with electric elements. That worked very quickly, just like our rear window.

I find the windscreen defrost no better or worse than other cars I’ve had, so its always meant sitting in the car twiddling thumbs for around 10 mins. A few years back my wife had a Ford Fiesta with an electric windscreen which was excellent, so it would be a very useful addition to the Corolla.

.. to add to my last comment I agree its unusual that the front windscreen demist /defroster button doesn’t automatically kick the heating and fan systems in at full blast … still have to manually find and operate the 2 separate button & knob to get the fan and heating on high… bit of a faff particularly if driving

Compared to other cars I have owned, I find that my 2021 Corolla takes a long time for the air blowers to produce warm air?
The windscreen defroster mode also doesn't seem to enable AC, recirculate and fast fan speed by default like other vehicles?
Typically it seems to take >10 minutes for warm air to be produced.
