My Corolla 1.8 hatchback does not do that. 
If it does I have not notice it.
 If I where you I would approach your dealer about it,there might be a vacume being formed in the fuel tank from the car fuel pump, its possible the engine could stop running because of that.I do not know how the tank is vented. Modern emission laws might mean it cannot be vented to atmosphere.
Best ask your dealer service team for advice.
