There is a warning light, I run my GR Sport until it comes on
the car has 6 lts of fuel in the tank even though the gauge says empty and mile readings also says zero range
toyota left a safety margin in the cars programme

Perhaps when showing 0 miles the low-level indicator appears?
Another there is you shouldn't run it so low as it sucks up debris in the tank.

According to the manual (p.375) there is a Low fuel level warning light (a petrol pump symbol, presumably red):
"**Vehicles without rear wiper: Indicates that remaining fuel is **
approximately 5.0 L (1.4 gal., 1.2 Imp. gal.) or less
Vehicles with rear wiper: Indicates that remaining fuel is approximately 5.4 L (1.5 gal., 1.2 Imp. gal.) or less"

Not sure as I always fill when I get to a quarter of a tank. have you checked what it says in the manual?

There does not appear to be any low level warning on the fuel tank apart from the miles till empty that I have got down to 16 but still no warning indicator. This would be insufficient on a motorway.
