- Range on battery power
Can someone tell me please how far I can go on battery power alone? My wife goes to scrabble club weekly which is about one mile there and back and/ or to Asda which is about 2 miles away. Can these trips be done without the use of the engine?

- 12v battery problems
I’ve heard a lot of bad reports regarding flat batteries
- Road noise
Can anyone tell me how noisy this car is? I am fed up with the road noise on motorway journeys in my current car (different make) and am looking at a Yaris Cross as an alternative.
- Battery - thoughts
Modern vehicles have lots of onboard systems each with their own controllers, not all of these go to sleep when you lock the vehicle. Alarm, immobiliser, wireless entry, remote control and status updates to yourphone etc. all consume power in the background. I have a battery float charger now, and connect it up if the vehicle is not driven enough.
However, since the vehicle (at least on Excel spec) reports status back to a smart phone app, wouldn't it be a good idea to warn the driver when the battery is in need of charging BEFORE it goes flat?Interestingly, my battery problems started a week or two after an "Over The Air software update". I received a letter saying Toyota would remotely update software in the vehicle and not to panic if refused to start while updating.
So will we be experiencing the same as PC users getting updates? A progress bar graph and "Please wait while we update your vehicle" - Mrs
I understand people have 12 volt battery problems with this car. Is it necessary to drive at least half an hour after switching on and
every day to avoid battery failure? - Auto wipers in icy weather
Am I right in thinking the auto wipers should be left in the off position when parked in icy weather?
It occurs to me that otherwise, with iced up windscreen, the wipers may trigger when pressing start and either:
1; damaging wiper motor
2; tearing the rubber wiper blades off.
Or is the car smart enough to avoid this?
Any thoughts? - Led Headlights
Been trying to find out if the led headlights on a 2023 yaris design require beam deflectors when driving abroad.

- Battery
Was considering replacing my 3 year old Yaris with the hybrid version. Read too many reviews about battery problems, ie drive 500 miles come back after fortnight holiday won’t start flat battery. Advised to start the car and let it run for a hour to maintain charge once a week. I do very little mileage use the car once or twice a week so this doesn’t sound good to me.
- is this car worth buying when driving 20 miles a week
i am thinking of changing my car but am concerned about the hybrid as i only drive about 15 miles a week
