Why buy it if you have doubts? Also decent of the dealers to give you a solar panel but you have to increase your driving mileage as it seems the logical way to me.

I have a friend who has the same problem with a Kia hybrid. Again she only potters about the town.
i guess the only answer is to go for a longer drive.

Toyota were aware of my low mileage but never mentioned it is a problem with Hybrids, i think 4 flat batteries in just over a week is not good. The solar panel cost me £54.i find it hard to plug in and inconvenient probably will have to change it, pity it has only done 6.000 miles and isn't 2 years old, i only bought it last March and have only done a 1.000 miles good car but not suitable for elderly lady who doesn't do much mileage, not sure where to go with this, Thank you for your comments.

Suggest you increase your driving mileage and watch your energy monitor.

When you turn on the ignition, always be sure to turn it full on (to 'START') immediately (so the 'Ready' display shows). This means the main hybrid battery will be doing all the work.

If you only turn the ignition to ACC or ON, only the little 12v battery is used, which means it will not last long, especially in the 'ON' position which allows you to use all the electrics (heater, air con, lights, etc.).

This is mentioned in the manual (p.170):

"NOTICE
To prevent 12-volt battery discharge
**Do not leave the power switch in ACC **
**or ON for long periods of time without **
the hybrid system running"
